What we see on screen influences our culture, impacting the way we perceive relationships and decision-making in our lives. In Mere Husband Ki Biwi, Ankush chooses to move forward with Antara, not giving Prabhleen another chance. While this might work within the film’s framework, it doesn’t entirely reflect the complexities of real-life relationships. The story could have explored the possibility of reconciliation, given that Ankush and Prabhleen once shared a deep connection. He only formed a relationship with Antara after his first marriage ended. So when Prabhleen, unaware of their past, asks for another chance, shouldn’t he at least consider it? This missing nuance in storytelling makes the film feel slightly incomplete. Had the script delved deeper into Ankush’s inner turmoil, showing more of his thought process and emotional conflict, it would have added another layer to the narrative. Instead, the film wraps up too conveniently, missing an opportunity to explore the idea that love isn’t always straightforward—sometimes, it demands difficult choices, and sometimes, it deserves second chances. Despite these narrative shortcomings, Mere Husband Ki Biwi remains a fun and enjoyable watch, thanks largely to its performances. Rakul Preet Singh, in particular, shines as Antara, bringing warmth, humor, and sincerity to the role. She elevates the film beyond its predictable plot, making it a memorable experience for audiences. However, due to the story’s limitations and its somewhat unsatisfying resolution, I find myself deducting a star from my overall rating. While it’s a well-performed and entertaining film, it could have been so much more with a stronger, more emotionally resonant ending.
